A little bit about Gilang

We found Gilang abandoned by his parents in a shack in Bambu Apus. When we found him, he was three years old. He did not have any clean clothes; he was malnourished and had an ear infection. When he started to live in As Sakinah, he was one of the children who received aid from “Rumah Sehat As Sakinah”. He had healthy meals every day.

 

Living with his sisters and all the girls in As Sakinah Tahfizh House 2 made him everybody’s little brother. Although sometimes he was spoiled, Gilang has become a very active young member of As Sakinah. He participates in classes, competitions and even Saman classes. Yes, when Dissa taught the girls how to dance Saman, Gilang was always there to watch. He then was able to remember the moves and always dance along every time the team performs.

 

What do you want to do when you grow up?

Be a president

 

What is your favorite subject at school and why?

Singing and reading, because I am still in the pre-school.

 

What is your hobby?

Eating and playing

 

What is your motto in life?
"The party is not fun without me!" (haha, talk about confidence there, Gilang!)

 

What is your most memorable moment in As Sakinah?

Trip to the Old Town in Jakarta. It was my first time to visit the Old Town and I got to be at the back of my sister’s bike. We rode around the historical places in Jakarta!
