OUR PROGRAMS
AS SAKINAH EDUCATION FUND
As Sakinah Education Fund is one of the main programs of As Sakinah. We currently fully provide tuition and school fee of more than 40 children and youth in Bambu Apus. Some of these children are orphans or coming from lower economic background. Some of the parents are unable to work. These children and youths’ education level is ranging from 1st grade of Elementary school up to university. We also provided As Sakinah scholarship for children with excellent academic result. RUMAH TAHFIZH
Tahfizh is an Arabic word for Qur’an memorization, which is the main program for As Sakinah Foundation. Currently we have 10 tahfizh centres (or “Rumah Tahfizh”) located in various parts of Bambu Apus village. Each tahfizh centre accommodates 20-30 students and has its own tahfizh schedule every week. Some of these students, based on their financial condition, are also receiving As Sakinah Education Fund to support their education.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTER (PAUD) & ISLAMIC MADRASAH
Early Childhood Education Centre (or in Indonesian called “PAUD”) is one of As Sakinah Foundation’s effort to provide good quality education for people of Bambu Apus, especially for its young children. We currently have 18 toddlers enrolled in PAUD As Sakinah. The activities include singing, coloring and playing together.
Madrasah is an Arabic word for “School”. In Madrasah As Sakinah, we formally teach the children from 8 – 13 years old about religion and Al Qur’an after their school hours. Our teachers are properly trained to teach in a professional yet fun way. Currently, we have 50 students enrolled in our after-school Madrasah.
SPECIAL ENGLISH PROGRAM
In collaboration with SIB School of Language, we currently open 13 English classes to provide English education for more than 100 children of Bambu Apus. The classes run six days a week, from morning to afternoon, complimenting their formal English education at school and accommodating the different school hours of the children.

QUR'AN CLASS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
We also provide Al Qur’an classes for younger children. Less formal than Madrasah, these classes (or called TPA in Indonesian) is focusing in teaching basic Arabic and how to read Qur’an. Our teachers and youths are involved in teaching this class every day from Monday to Friday. Currently we have 20-30 toddlers and young children enrolled in our afternoon classes.
QUR'AN LITERACY PROGRAM FOR MOTHERS
As Sakinah not only provides Qur’an classes for children, but also their mothers. As Sakinah Qur’an literacy program provides informal Al Qur’an classes and gathering for mothers and women in Bambu Apus and Pamulang. We currently have three groups of Qur’an literacy classes (Majlis Ta’lim).
MARTIAL ARTS & SPORTS DAY
As Sakinah believes in fun and healthy learning environment for the children. Therefore, we provides martial art Cimande (traditional West Java martial art) classes for the children every weekend. Whoever interested could sign up and practice together with our teacher. The Cimande group performed at our Maulid Nabi Event in 2014 and received standing applause from the audience.
Besides Cimande, As Sakinah also as a sports day every Sunday. Every Sunday morning, all As Sakinah teachers, mentors and children gather in front of Madrasah to do morning exercise and do some sports. The sports day also a perfect time for all As Sakinah crew to meet and mingle.
RTA BIZ - SOCIAL BUSINESS
As Sakinah also expands its wings in Social Business with our program called “RTA Biz”. We believe that social business will help us to self-sustain through our daily operations. With our partner RS Bhinneka Sari Husada, a hospital in South Tangerang, we open a canteen fully operated by As Sakinah and its youths. We also invest in agribusiness, such as wood farm, rice field and sugarcane farm in Java. Next to our Madrasah, we also have a small area for raising goats, chicken and eel.
